REEFER RACKS

The Manila International Container Terminal (MICT) is a key player in the Philippines’ maritime landscape. The International Container Terminal Services Inc. (ICTSI) embarked on a significant expansion project, introducing its eighth berth, Berth 6, in Tondo Manila. This expansion aimed to accommodate Megamax ships with a maximum capacity of 18,000 TEUs, reflecting the port’s commitment to meeting growing demands.

ESC SOLUTION

The latest phase of the project involved the supply of 13 sets of reefer rack structures at MICTSI Berth 6. These structures were installed to enhance the terminal’s capability to handle approximately 300 TEUs of reefer cargo. This addition aligns with ICTSI’s strategy to stay ahead of industry demands and provide cutting-edge infrastructure.

IMPACT

The Manila International Container Terminal now boasts an annual capacity of 3 million TEUs, solidifying its position as one of the largest non-transshipment ports globally. This expansion not only enhances the terminal’s efficiency but also contributes to the economic growth of the region.
